General Formulations (GF), a manufacturer of pressure sensitive media, film, and laminates, has announced the promotion of Dan Collins to vice president of purchasing and production. Collins brings to the company more than 20 years of experience in operations, manufacturing, and multi-channel product distribution with P&L ownership.

Since joining General Formulations in November 2023 as finishing plant manager, Collins has played
a pivotal role in streamlining production operations and driving continuous improvement. The company says his dedication to fostering teamwork, coupled with his belief in leading by example, aligns seamlessly with GF’s commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and responsible manufacturing.

Collins began his professional journey in sales and marketing, but after securing his first major client, he discovered a passion for customer satisfaction and operational excellence. This realization led him to shift his focus to production, where he has spent much of his career optimizing workflows and enhancing efficiencies across multiple industries. Collins holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Grand Valley State University and an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. His expertise spans finance analysis, change management, process improvement, and lean manufacturing, among other areas.

“Dan’s entrepreneurial mindset, coupled with his extensive experience in operations and his
commitment to fostering strong team dynamics, make him the ideal candidate for this role,” says Mike
Clay, president of General Formulations. “We are confident that under his leadership, GF will continue
to enhance its operational excellence and deliver exceptional value to our customers worldwide.”
